Detonate Festival is a regular event in our calendar and traditionally rounds off our festival summer. On this occasion, we supported the festivals’ three stages at Colwick Park in Nottingham.

We supplied LED screens of various styles for each stage, along with producing detailed plans. These plans included screen layouts, processing, power requirements, and rigging details. The LED designs worked brilliantly with lighting to produce an amazing show for festival crowds for every stage.
The Big Top stage saw 128 of our Unilumin 2.6mm LED panels used to great effect in 15 horizontal strips in single rows. These were rigged with lighting fixtures in between to create a broken-up backdrop, with four Novastar 660s looking after processing.
We used 98 panels of outdoor 4.8mm Lightlink screen for the Main Stage in two configurations. Strips of panels were rigged in the roof of the structure, again mixed with lighting fixtures to provide a great combination of visuals. This configuration combined with a 9.5m x 2m Lightlink screen on the stage acted as a fantastic backdrop to the artists performing. All screens were controlled by 3 Novastar VX4s processors.
Probably the most striking set design was for Stage Three, with a series of squares filled with either lighting in the form of audience blinders or LED panels. This time 130 panels of Yes Tech 4.8mm outdoor LED were used, either mounted in squares, as part of the main screen or the DJ booth. Two Novastar VX4S processors were used to control all three configurations, with programming and processing especially challenging on this stage. We had two very busy days building the super bright LED screens for this great festival, with eight crew working tirelessly to help create an amazing day for the festival-goers.
In the end, the stages had three very different looks, all looking brilliant as the summer sun faded
